Cold email and LinkedIn outreach should be one system. Not two.
Most B2B founders I talk to run them separately. Different lists. Different tools. Different timelines. No connection between them.
Here's the problem with that:
A prospect ignores your cold email (happens 90%+ of the time). What happens next? Nothing. They never hear from you again. Or they get 3 more emails that also get ignored.
Meanwhile, they're on LinkedIn every day. Scrolling. Engaging. But you never show up there because your LinkedIn outreach is targeting a completely different list.
The fix: Connect the channels.
Here's the multichannel loop I run for every campaign:
Path A: Cold email first → LinkedIn fallback
Best for larger lists (1,000+ prospects) where you want to test interest via email before investing limited LinkedIn connections.
1. Send 2 cold emails via Instantly (https://refer.instantly.ai/gxqjr1iyn1bd)
2. If no reply after both emails → automation triggers
3. Lead gets added to a HeyReach (heyreach.io/?via=tanyo) LinkedIn campaign
4. HeyReach runs the warm-up (view profile → like post → connect)
5. If they accept → 3-message sequence
6. If they don't accept after 7 days → end campaign for this prospect
Path B: LinkedIn first → Cold email fallback
Best for your top 200-300 prospects where the personal LinkedIn touch matters more.
1. View profile → like post → send connection request via HeyReach
2. If accepted → 3-message sequence
3. If NOT accepted after 7 days → automation adds them to Instantly
4. Instantly sends 2 cold emails
5. If they reply to the email → conversation starts
6. If no reply → end campaign for this prospect
How to set this up technically:
Both tools connect via API. In Instantly, go to Settings → Integrations → HeyReach. In HeyReach, go to Settings → Integrations → copy your API key.
Once connected, you build automations in Instantly:
Trigger: "Campaign finished for lead" + "Lead didn't reply"
Action: "Add lead to HeyReach list" → Select your LinkedIn campaign
And in HeyReach, within the campaign builder:
If connection NOT accepted after 7 days → "Add to Instantly campaign"
The critical detail: Exclusion lists.
Never contact the same person on both channels simultaneously. Export completed leads from each tool weekly and upload as exclusion lists.
Or let the API automation handle it — when a lead moves from one tool to the other, it's automatically excluded from the source campaign.
What this looks like in practice:
→ Monday: 200 cold emails go out via Instantly
→ Tuesday: 50 non-responders from last week's email batch get added to HeyReach automatically
→ Wednesday: 25 connection requests go out on LinkedIn
→ Thursday: 10 people who didn't accept LinkedIn connections from 2 weeks ago enter Instantly
→ Ongoing: New leads enter the system. Old leads cascade between channels. Nothing falls through the cracks.
Your action step:
If you're running cold email OR LinkedIn outreach:
1. Connect Instantly and HeyReach via API (5 minutes)
2. Set up one automation trigger (10 minutes)
3. Let non-responders on one channel cascade to the other
You just doubled your touchpoints without doubling your work.
Keep dominating,
Tanyo
